Getting Ready for Bali’s Big Eco Weekend

Bali is a beautiful place to be this time of year - pumping waves, warm water, delicious food to name just a few reasons to visit. It’s also this time of year where we celebrate keeping Bali’s beaches clean with Bali’s Big Eco Weekend.

This year we’re celebrating the tenth anniversary of the event and we can’t wait for the weekend to roll around. On Saturday morning at 7am we’ll be kicking off with a #ROXYFITNESS event at Double Six beach in Seminyak. After a 45 minute yoga class on the beach, we’ll go for a 3km run followed by a surf lesson. Our roxy team riders Mainei Kinimaka , Torah Bright and Gemala Hanafiah will be surfing alongside you too.

Join us at Kuta Beach at 4pm to lend a hand to clean up the beach with Mainei and Torah followed by the sea turtle release at 5pm. Since 2007 we have supported the breeding of sea turtles at Kuta Beach and for the past 10 years have released over 140,000 sea turtles back into the ocean.

On Sunday we’ll be heading to one of the best breaks in the world for the Uluwatu Challenge. To raise funds for Project Clean Uluwatu, up to forty surfers can pay $150 USD to enter and paddle out and compete with surfing legends Mark Richards, Matt Hoy, Tom Carroll and Simon Anderson. Mainei Kinimaka and Torah Bright will also be paddling out to join in the competition too.

Here's a taste of what's in store for the weekend. Enjoy!
