We recently caught up with Coolangatta local, Ellie Brooks, to ask her about being back at home, her beach essentials and the all important answer to the difficult question -‘Where is your favorite beach?’



What a crazy year 2020 has been, it has thrown some major curveballs at me and I am sure so many people around the world. BUT, I have spent some incredible time at home, for the first time in years. I have been lucky enough to enjoy this amazing place I get to call home, Coolangatta, on the Gold Coast.





I LOVE traveling. I love the culture and the new places I get to experience and the incredible people I meet along the way. I have been fortunate enough to stumble across some beautiful beaches on my travels but nothing beats my backyard, Snapper Rocks to Rainbow Bay.

Since I have been at home I have really appreciated how lucky we are here! I have lapped up walking down to the beach every day, the beautiful crystal clear water, white squeaky sand and the pumping waves we have had since March. Arguably, the best place to be in “lock down”. Home is certainly where my heart is.



I have been on a few ROXY adventures, near and far, and thought they are always memorable, I loved my trip to Byron Bay with the team. We spent the morning at Top Shop drinking coffee, eating acai and then went for a longboard out at The Pass. Simple mornings like that are always the best. Out in the ocean with good company!

My go to beach accessories are pretty simple; I bring a bag with all my goodies, Sunscreen, sunnies, my hat, water, a good book, the double ROXY beach towel (no one likes a small towel when down at the beach!), a healthy snack and of course a beach umbrella.

You can’t go wrong with a beach day, bring on summer!
