With competition on hold for another day at the #ROXYpro Gold Coast we decided to chase waves further south (any excuse for a little roadtrip!)

We packed the cars with all of the essentials; plenty of boards, our favorite POPsurf bikinis, healthy snacks and some perfect roadtrippin’ tunes.

As we wound our way along the coast - stopping for a few necessary surf checks - we soaked up yet another beautiful day of Aussie sunshine and good times.

It wasn’t long before we sighted the iconic Byron Bay lighthouse and we couldn’t be more excited, it marked our surf check destination and the anticipation to get into the water was almost too much to handle. With the lighthouse offering views across two epic surf spots, Watego’s to our left and Tallows to our right.

Tallows was picking up the southerly swell and blowing out, making Watego’s the easy choice. On offer, a cosy sheltered beach with peeling waves for longboarding. It was the best place to settle in for the day.

After plenty of party waves, some fancy footwork and smiles for miles we decided to call it and head back to Coolangatta, waiting for the swell to arrive at the #ROXYpro.
