Postcards from Japan: Cruising the Greenroom Festival With Bruna and the #3Amigos

What better way to kick off our weekend in Japan, than cruising the surf culture, art, film and music at the Greenroom Festival, along Yokohama’s historic waterfront. The two day festival gave us a chance to not only immerse ourselves amongst over 100,000 like minded salty souls but to hang out with the local fans and share some serious selfie stoke.

We asked Bruna to round up her favorite moments from the weekend and how she can best describe the experience -

Was Japan what you expected it to be?

I've heard only good things about Japan, I love sushi and I couldn't wait to visit Japan for the first time. There is a big Japanese community in Brazil, so we learn a bit about their culture growing up. I'm over the moon with this place, the people are incredibly polite, the city is so clean and I love the street style (and obviously the food just gives that perfect final touch!).

Tell us about the surfing fans in Japan?

We did a little meet and greet at the ROXY GreenRoom booth. I knew before I came here from Kelia and Monyca, that the Japanese fans were super passionate, but experiencing it is a whole different thing. They made us feel so special, they are so thankful and sooooo happy to see us, it was adorable. The girls were so polite and lovely, my favourite new word is "Kawaii" which means cute :)

What's the Greenroom festival all about?

Surf, Music, and Art. I love live music, I will always find an excuse to go see bands, and I love the idea of festivals, live music during the day is my gem. The GreenRoom was such a great experience because the one thing that usually gets me at festivals is the crowd and people bumping into you, but not in Japan, people are way too nice and polite.

Top 3 must do's when in Yokohama at the Greenroom?

Check out the art gallery space. It's amazing.

Most definitely come to the ROXY booth so you can hang with the 3 amigos.

And enjoy all the live performances, our most favourite this time was Nattali Rize she rocked it!
