It was an exciting day of action at the World Longboard Championships in Hinan, China, today with Brazilian surfer, Chloe Calmon, reaching the final and narrowly missing out on the World Title to Californian, Tory Gilkerson.
In clean 2-3 foot peeling left handers, Chloe came up against fellow ROXY team rider, Justine Mauvin, in the semi finals and narrowly came away with the win by just .24 points.
Calmon’s solid run throughout the event put her in good stead as she paddled out for the final with Gilkerson. Although Chloe posted two strong rides 7.33 and 7.50 throughout the heat, it unfortunately wasn’t enough to match Tory’s total score of 15.93.
With her best finish at a World Championship, we congratulate Chloe on an incredible event.
We’re so proud of all our team riders and their impressive performances in Hinan, with 2x World Champ Kelia Moniz cruising her way through to the quarterfinals and Justine Mauvin with podium finish and 3rd overall.
